This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob's work (Code for Adult Day Center) did their version of the Academy Awards yesterday. Bob was thrilled he had received an award and asked Sheri repeatedly on the way home if he had shown it to her. She said she was very proud of him and that he was very deserving of the award. After about the tenth time of Bob asking Sheri if she had seen the award, "Al" with great pride (and a tad bit of conceit) in his voice explained to Sheri that he was quite sure no one else's award had this pretty gold trim around the border edge :)
