This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

When Daughter Number 1 arrived at Sheri's parents house with Bob, Daughter Number 1 sat him down in a chair in their tiny living room. Sheri approached Bob and tried to greet him. "Al" backed his head away and by the look in his eyes Sheri could tell "Al" had no idea who Sheri was. The loneliness of this wretched disease is amplified when you can not seek comfort in the arms of your spouse.

2nd Corinthians 4:16
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
