This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

There are certain things that Bob says over and over during the day, but it is always the same thing. Other than "what is the plan?" He very rarely asks a question. Night before last out of a sound sleep (finally) Bob pops up (well, not quite pops up) on one elbow and says " Oh, are you awake too?" Sheri startled by an  impromptu question and tired of the many times Bob had already been up said "nope." To which "Al" replied " Okay thank you" and promptly went back to sleep.
Always a gentleman, a confused gentleman but a gentlemen.
