This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

A meds addition was necessary for Bob and "Al" and Sheri is cautiously optimistic. Sheri wants to share with you a great comforting devise she has found. At the suggestion of Daughter Number One she looked on line and found this wonderful pet from Hasbro Lifelike Cat. Sheri bought this primarily to see if it would help at "work" (code for Adult Day Center). "Al's" agitation has escalated there quite a bit. The Day care reported that it definitely calms him, so knowing that the doctor trips can cause "Al" great anxiety she brought it with her. Sheri shot this video in the doctors office yesterday. Please watch till the end it is not very long , although pricy it is very much worth the money. It actually meows as well but Sheri had the mute function on. "Al" definitely believes it is one of our cats  :)

  3. That is so awesome, I'm glad you have found some solutions. My Mom used to carry around a rag doll, and it seemed to comfort her.
